Authorities say 12 missing in Texas floods likely dead, 13 killed in Mexico tornado | Fox News

Authorities say 12 missing in Texas floods likely dead, 13 killed in Mexico tornadoPublished May 26, 2015FoxNews.comFacebook79 Twitter371 livefyre421 Email PrintNOW PLAYINGDeadly flooding destroys hundreds of homes in Texas, Okla.Authorities in central Texas ended their search late Monday for 12 people missing after a vacation home where they were staying was swept away by a flash flood.Trey Hatt, spokesman for the Hays County Emergency Operations Center, told reporters that rescue teams halted their search for survivors at nightfall Monday. He said “the search component is over,” meaning that no more survivors are expected to be found in the flood debris. Hatt said recovery operations are expected to begin Tuesday.Witnesses reported seeing the swollen Blanco River push the vacation house off its foundation and smash it into a bridge. Only pieces of the home have been found, Hays County Judge Bert Cobb told the Associated Press. One person who was rescued from the home told workers that the other 12 inside were all connected to two families, Cobb said. KTBC reported that eight of the missing had traveled to the area from Corpus Christi. The house was in Wimberley Valley, an area known for its bed-and-breakfast inns and weekend rental cottages approximately 30 miles southwest of Austin. In Bastrop County, southeast of the state capital, water from the Colorado River breached a dam at Bastrop State Park. The Austin American-Statesman reported that emergency responders had been required to make several water rescues, all of which were successful. An exact number of rescues was not immediately made available, nor was it immediately clear whether there were any injuries. The flooding is the result of storms that have been blamed for at least seven deaths over the long holiday weekend in the U.S., with three in Oklahoma and four in Texas. A man’s body was recovered from a flooded area along the Blanco River, which rose 26 feet in an hour and created huge piles of debris. Another man was confirmed dead Monday when a tornado destroyed four homes in a subdivision outside the city of Cameron, approximately 60 miles northeast of Austin. Milam County Judge Dave Barkemeyer told the Associated Press the man died when his mobile home was destroyed at  about 4 p.m. local time Monday. Four other people were injured.Texas Gov. Greg Abbott flew over parts of the Blanco on Monday, a day after heavy rains pushed the river into surrounding neighborhoods. Abbott said the storms had “relentless tsunami-type power”, and urged communities downstream to monitor flood levels and take the threat seriously. Abbott also added 24 counties to his disaster declaration, bringing the total to 37, most in the eastern half of the state.Late Monday, the National Weather Service declared a flash flood emergency for southwest Harris County as the storm brought heavy rain to the Houston area. The weather service reported 5 to 7 inches had fallen there Monday night and an additional 2 to 4 inches were possible.Authorities urged Houston residents to avoid all travel, and CenterPoint Energy reported that over 70,000 customers in the Houston area were without poewr. The Houston Rockets advised fans to remain in the arena following Game 4 of the NBA’s Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors due to the severe weather in the area.In Mexico, at least 13 people were killed when a tornado ripped through the city of Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, a city of 125,000 on the border with the U.S. Three infants were among those confirmed dead, while five others, including another infant, were unaccounted for. Rescue workers dug through the rubble of damaged homes in a race to find victims. The twister hit a seven-block area shortly after daybreak Monday, around the time buses were preparing to take children to school. Mayor Evaristo Perez Rivera said 300 people were being treated at local hospitals, and up to 200 homes had been completely destroyed.”There’s nothing standing, not walls, not roofs,” said Edgar Gonzalez, a spokesman for the city government, describing some of the destroyed homes in a 1 square mile stretch.Gonzalez said late Monday night that rescuers were looking for four members of a family who were believed missing, adding that there were still areas of rubble that remained to be searched.Family members and neighbors gathered around a pickup truck where the bodies of a woman and two children were laid out in the truck’s bed, covered with sheets. Two relatives reached down to touch the bodies, covered their eyes and wept.Photos from the scene showed cars with their hoods torn off, resting upended against single-story houses. One car’s frame was bent around the gate of a house. A bus was seen flipped and crumpled on a roadway. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

City bans handheld cell phone use while driving – KABB – San Antonio Top Stories – News, Sports, Weather, Traffic

SAN ANTONIO – City council members unanimously voted Thursday to approve a ban on hand-held cell phone use while driving.

The ordinance bans drivers from using a hand-held phone to make a phone call, check text messages, view pictures or any other type of cell phone use while driving.

That includes using your phone as a GPS device while on the road.  The only exception to the GPS stipulation would be if you are using a GPS device that is attached inside your car.

Drivers are allowed to use their phones if they are using a hands-free device such as bluetooth or if they are calling 911 to report an emergency.

The hand-held cell phone ban goes into effect January 1, 2015.  Drivers caught using their phones face a $200 fine.

According to a presentation given by San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus, distracted driving was the cause in more than 90,000 crashes across the state of Texas in 2013.

We Are being blackmailed harassed and terrorized

Hello, I’m Jon T Dragon and this is our story.

It all started a few weeks ago on twitter, if it stayed on twitter I wouldn’t be writing this article now. A lady named Caroline Hogan (aka Guacamole Hogan on twitter is/was @DillyPickler @DillyPicklerTwo I know her as @GuacamoleCaz  )  who I thought was a friend at the time has taken a twitter “break up” to the extreme. Anyone that has been on twitter/social media for a while and made friends understands that some friendships dissolve, feelings get hurt and people stopped talking to one another. On social media this is easy to handle you just unfriend or block/ mute the other person. This this is how most everybody handles a bad situation online. Most people don’t resort to blackmail and intimidation off-line in the real world messing with real people’s lives. Caroline Hogan did she’s released personal information on me and others on twitter. She has called the families, schools, ex-husbands and workplaces of others. She has endanger our children our friends and our jobs. Ms. Hogan must be stopped I’m hoping that law enforcement both the FBI and Interpol can do something about it. I’m writing this article both for them and for you.

There are lessons to be learned about your online activities having real-world consequences.  I know what you’re thinking we’ve heard all this before we’re careful about our online activities. We keep an eye on your kid’s online activities. I thought the same thing to, but I’ve come to understand that even the simplest of online activities can be misconstrued twisted and use against you.

Think about that family photo you have on Facebook, that photo of you sitting in your backyard or leaning up against your new car. What if an obsessive crazy person got ahold of that and posted it all over twitter along with the threat to release more? What if this crazy person threatened to print out private messages, DM conversations you had with her and send them to your church? What would you do if she hacked your account and got all the information she needed to make a few phone calls? What would happen if someone half a world away in the UK picked up a telephone and called your ex-husband threatening to ruin his career? Right now someone reading this is thinking you shouldn’t tell anybody on social media what you wouldn’t tell a stranger on the street. This does sound like good advice but we tell strangers all kinds of stuff all the time. What about those you thought were friends? What embarrassing things have you done that somebody else knows, things that could be use against you. So far I think I’ve been pretty lucky Ms. Hogan pulled a few photos of me from my personal Facebook account. I have no real way of knowing what else she got from my account before I was able to lock it down. I guess we’ll find out when she decides to turn them into meme’s and post them all over the place, like she did with another guy.

I’m absolutely certain that Ms. Hogan is going to say that this article is full of baseless accusations and might even try a libel lawsuit. She has said as much on twitter. So why would I post this and expose myself further? Because the truth will out. I will stand in the blaze of truth and let the bonfire burn away the shadow of lies from others. Speaking of others this story does not just involve me and Ms. Hogan. The real damage off-line that Ms. Hogan has done is to my friends.

Let us start with one of the worst things that Ms. Caroline Hogan has done. It involves a wonderful lady named Nancy a quiet, shy and reserved woman from small town USA, much like the rest of us. Nancy wasn’t looking for trouble and had no idea what was about to happen. Being from a small town where everybody knows everybody Nancy’s only real contact with the outside world was on twitter. She found great entertainment and friendship with those of us online. But she also found something else, someone she really liked. It’s not uncommon these days for someone to meet a companion or friend even a soul mate in the online world. I’m sure those of you like me who have spent a lot of time on social media, in forums, messengers and chat rooms have come across one or two at least. Those who find an escape online from the drudgery of daily life will understand fully.

Unfortunately because of Mrs. Hogan’s actions off-line Nancy no longer has that choice. Ms. Caroline Hogan has contacted Nancy’s ex-husband and lied to him, threatened his business. A man that has been described by some as “very controlling and abusive” Ms. Hogan probably knows this which is why she called him. She’s also contacted Nancy’s children’s school and lied to them. Imagine having to go to the administrators of your children’s school in a small town where everybody knows everybody knows everything and explain to them why some crazy lady from the United Kingdom is saying who knows what. Actually Nancy knows but she’s too terrified to tell me exactly what’s going on. What Ms. Hogan did has gone far beyond stupid meme’s and snarky comments on twitter. What Ms. Hogan has done is illegal. In the real-world it’s called stalking, harassment and terroristic acts. Yes I said terroristic acts, her actions have terrified a child and his mother among others. Caroline Hogan is causing a family to fight, Nancy to be kicked out of her house and lose her job. She has also terrorize a child and his school. Ms. Hogan has the whole town talking, snickering, staring and sent a decent mother and child into hiding. I’m absolutely sure that Ms. Hogan is completely pleased with the terror, dismay and anarchy that she has caused in a good woman’s life, but you don’t have to take my word for it.

The following is a partial email exchange I had with Nancy in the last couple of days. My notations will be (enclosed)

“Well, Jon, where do I start…? Please don’t use my name or anyone else associated with me.  And thank you so much.  I have no proof of anything, I just can’t get it. (Non-techie people will understand that part plus Phone records require a court order) The school said someone from social media has it out for me, and through the grapevine, I heard she (Caroline Hogan) sent screen shots of tweets regarding Muslims, where I was swearing and calling ppl whores. (Our twitter accounts are political and get heated) She also sent Dick (Ex) a friend request and went through our Facebook pages and contacted everyone with the same last name and told them I was having an affair with someone online (you can’t have an “affair” when you’re single) and she also sent them screen shots. (Screenshots from Nancy’s account that Caroline may have hacked) My son, never gave her the time of day but she tried. (Caroline tried to use a boy against his mother) She used the name Carol Smiley and said she was born in 1984. (Lies and deceit are tools of the trade for Caroline Hogan)  That’s the only thing on that Facebook page, which of course is gone now. (Because of Ms. Hogan Nancy is terrified to have anything to do online with social media) She just made that up to go through everyone I knew and Dick knew”. (Ms. Hogan trolled Nancy’s Facebook, tried to manipulate Nancy’s little boy in order to obtain information to conduct real-world off-line terroristic activities)

But it doesn’t stop there…

“I’m very scared of her because she lies and makes things up and once someone hears something like this, it’s always in the back of their mind. She has planted the seed with my friends, family, and the school. I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone including families. I have always been well respected here as far as the school and parents are concerned. My oldest grew up and went to the same three schools that my youngest goes too. That’s right, 3 schools (I did mention it was a small town) and all the same people work there, the same teachers and everything. I have volunteered at the school for 15 years. (It is unclear at this time if Nancy still can) I am horrified.  All this, not to mention my job, which I am fighting for -still. (The first reports when this happened on November 6 was that Nancy was fired from her job) She (Caroline Hogan) has contacted my ex-husbands who I have maintained close relationships with. (Apparently it’s a complicated legal relationship he actually kicked her out of the house she was living in because of this, yes Caroline Hogan’s actions left this lady and her little boy homeless right at the beginning of winter) Ugh!!! What a nightmare.

I just can’t take this shit, Jon.” (On a side note Nancy’s ex is a real douche in my opinion)

Stand strong Nancy we’re doing everything we can to make sure Ms. Hogan pays legally for what she’s done to you.

Now you seen what Ms. Hogan can do in the real world let’s move on to what she’s threatening to do to someone else. At the beginning of this article I said some friends and I were being blackmail. On November 6, 2014 Ms. Caroline Hogan began her campaign to destroy us. After posting my real name and real pictures of me she turned on someone else, the real target Bob. You see going after me and especially going after Nancy is a means to an end for Ms. Hogan.

This brings us to Bob

Bob is a nice man from a not so small town with a very tightknit community. Ms. Hogan has blackmailed him into silence, she has threatened to mail copies of whatever it is that she has or has made up to his church, job and everybody else she can get her hands on. I believe Bob to be a standup guy struggling as many of us do to get through this life. He like all people has a few flaws but he is working hard to improve his life how many of us can say that. Ms. Hogan’s campaign of harassment and blackmail have put him between a rock and a hard place. Ms. Hogan has threatened to do the same thing to him that she has already done to Nancy. She has exposed his children on social media and threatened to go after them in the real world as well. I have urged many times at great length to get Bob to come here and tell his story. At the time of this writing he is paralyzed with fear locked down his accounts and has been spiraling into a major depressive state. I for one can completely understand that, I too locked down all of my social media accounts, I only reopened my twitter account on November 9 because a friend reminded me I cannot let Ms. Hogan control my life online or otherwise. Bob’s attempt to get Ms. Hogan to stop her terroristic campaign of harassment and blackmail have been unsuccessful.

I have a very strong feeling that this article is going to set Ms. Hogan off on the bus to crazy town again.

Who else has Caroline Hogan tried to destroy in the real world because of actions in the Twitter sphere? I have made attempts to contact her other victims but only one so far has come forward on the record. Let’s examine her story shall we. This is another email exchange I had with a fellow twitter user that was unfortunate enough to come across Ms. Hogan’s vitriol.

Once again my notations will be (enclosed)

“Hi Jon,”

“I know this has been a difficult time for all of us. I know it has been for me. I joined twitter in 2009 right after Obama was sworn in, thanks to Glenn Beck.

(She doesn’t mean Glenn Beck got Obama sworn in. In point of fact Glenn Beck and The Blaze are the reason I started this blog and my twitter account to)

In all of that time I have never experienced such anger, hatred, and emotional upheaval as I have since the time Caroline Hogan began following me on twitter.

Caroline followed me in July. We were not close and only randomly acquainted. In August another person that had “introduced” us ended up blocking her. She Direct Messaged (DM) me to ask me what I thought about it and why she had been blocked. I had no answers for her. From that point forward she targeted the man who had blocked her, using his photo and making memes directed at him which she posted. (Provided in the gallery)  This behavior continued until September 15, 2014 when the guy deactivated his account. (Another person Ms. Hogan has run off social media)

Prior to September, I had used my real name as my @name on twitter. (FYI twitter handles are @username) Caroline used my name and searched for me on Facebook and sent me a friend request, (anybody else seeing a pattern) which I approved. I’m not on Facebook much and use it solely to keep in touch with family who live out of state. This did, however, give Caroline access to my photographs and such. Also during this time she and I had chatted via Yahoo Messenger. She had also begun chatting with Bob on a regular basis. Caroline and Bob talked more than she and I did.

On Saturday, September 27, 2014 Caroline and I were in a twitter conversation with Mike, Bob, and Ray. Eventually Caroline and Bob began “sexting” in the timeline. She began asking Bob about “trouser snakes” and they were soon discussing ejaculating pythons and wet sheets. I jokingly told them to “get a room.” Ray also made a like-minded comment. Mike politely asked to be “untagged” from the conversation. I had been watching a Saturday afternoon football game and had become distracted when my phone notifications started going off one right after the other. They were all from Caroline who was upset that Mike had asked to be untagged. She began calling him names and posting vile pics to him in the conversation thread. Mike came back and asked her what her problem was and she never replied to his question although she did continue to post memes to him. Mike asked me what the problem with Caroline was. I told him I would tell him in DM. Caroline had accused him of being pissy, being a “misery guts,” intoxicated, on his man period, just to name a few. (Screenshots in the gallery) Caroline wanted me to tell Mike that he was being a dick because he didn’t like it because other guys had joined the conversation and he didn’t want to share his “toy” meaning me. (Another innocent lady being used to get back at a man)

In the course of the conversation I had asked Mike about a book quote that he had posted but was unable to find. When he and I were talking I asked him if that was why he had asked to be untagged. He told me that he honestly hadn’t seen it, and that with so many people in the conversation, it was hard to keep up with everyone and every tweet since he was posting from his phone. I asked him why he had asked to be untagged and he explained to me that he didn’t enjoy the smutty talk and felt that the public TL (timeline) wasn’t the place to carry on such conversation, and that DMs were available for that type of conversation. I told him that I agreed and had told them to “get a room.” It was not feasible (or reasonable) to hurl Caroline’s erroneous accusations at him after he had told me his reasons for opting out of the conversation.

Because I didn’t defend Caroline’s actions towards Mike, she took it personally and said I had “thrown her under the bus” and wasn’t a “real” friend to her. She immediately blocked Mike and a couple of days later she had blocked me as well. She began posting pics directed at me: “Friends don’t throw friends under the bus.” Or “Throwing Friends Under the Bus must be a Southern thing.” (People always seem to have the wrong impression of us Southerners) I ignored every insult directed at me and didn’t reply or involve other people. (Good for you) Within a few days both Mike and Bob had DM’d me asking me about Caroline. It was at this time that I told them what had transpired between Caroline and myself. This was on October 4th.

In the course of a few days, Caroline had recruited NY (a passionate follower of TheBonfireMedia) to help her convince Bob to block me. I was informed via Bob that every time he replied to a tweet of mine, he was in essence, slapping Caroline in the face and that somehow I was a “twitter whore who had trampled all over her.” NY told Bob that he had to block me straight up. (An example of Ms. Hogan getting other people to do her dirty work) Bob told them it was a free twitter and he would follow whomever he chose and that he wasn’t in high school any more. This infuriated Caroline and she deactivated her @DillyPickler (twitter username) /BleakExpectations (moniker) account.

On October 10th I received a message from Bob saying, “She’s baaaaaack!” with a screenshot of her page. (In gallery) She was using my deceased mother’s name as her moniker:  (respectfully withheld), with a ghost avatar. The anniversary of my Mom’s death is Nov 12 so she is being deliberately cruel. Mental and emotional abuse/bullying.”

(Let us pause right here and let that sink in. Caroline Hogan is using the name of the recently deceased mother of someone she once called a friend.)

“I was very upset that she had resorted to such cruelty when I had not spoken to her since she had blocked me in September. Sometime near October 16 Mike tweeted to Caroline and called her out for the smutty talk and her treatment to me. As it was her “new” @GuacamoleCaz  / (respectfully withheld),  account she had not blocked him. He blocked her afterwards and has not spoken to her since then. (Good for him)

On November 6th Caroline began character assassination of myself and everyone involved. She began posting screenshots of private DMs in her TL. These postings lasted all day. She also posted a photo of my deceased mother with the caption “Mama didn’t raise you right.” (Six days before the one year anniversary) I was very emotional and hurt that she would resort to such hurtful measures. I reported each tweet that had my name and my mother’s photo. Just prior to this outburst of vitriol and vengeance, she had once again changed her @name to @DillyPicklerTwo.

Caroline has targeted friends, their kids, and has carried out character assassination of myself and everyone who was originally involved in the first conversation: Mike, Bob, and myself. Then she targeted those people that she herself was responsible for bringing into the mess: NY, Nancy, and Jon.  Especially Nancy as she was jealous that Bob and Nancy chatted often. As of today, Sunday, November 9, Caroline has protected her tweets and no one can see what she is posting about us.”

Sincerely, Lassie

Thank you Lassie for that, very enlightening, you illustrate the pattern of abuse, vengeance, stalking, using and deceiving others for her terroristic tactics perfectly. I started writing this article on November 8 and finishing up on November 11 after doing this last part I’d like to stop and say our prayers are with you Lassie and your family. That part about her mom touches me quite deeply my mother-in-law passed away two years ago in October. I think any of us that have lost a parent or a dear loved one can see the absolute disgust in what Ms. Hogan did in posting that picture and making those kinds of awful remarks.

In conclusion I would like to add a few things. The names have been changed at their request. I think anyone with a kind heart and a good soul can understand why. Prior to the posting of this article I attempted to contact Ms. Hogan to see if she had anything to say. In the gallery and footnotes below you’ll find some of the screenshots, evidence and proof I was able to obtain at the time this article was posted. Any further evidence or updates will be posted below. I would urge my readers not to try and contact or harass Ms. Hogan at all, however, I cannot control the actions of others. If you do, I would strongly urge you to be polite.

Thank You, Jon T Dragon

‘A dozen witnesses’ say Ferguson teen attacked cop before shooting

‘A dozen witnesses’ say Ferguson teen attacked cop before shooting

Multiple witnesses in riot-torn Ferguson, Mo., said that the unarmed black teen killed by a white cop attacked the officer in his patrol car before the teen was shot, according to a new report.

“Police sources tell me more than a dozen witnesses have corroborated cop’s version of events in shooting,” St. Louis Post-Dispatch crime reporter Christine Byers tweeted, without elaborating.

Officer Darren Wilson has not spoken publicly about the Aug. 9 shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown shortly after Brown and a pal allegedly stole a $50 box of cigars in a strong-arm robbery at a convenience store.

But two friends have come forward to defend him — with one describing his version of events leading up to the killing.

A man who said he played hockey with the 28-year cop said on “Good Morning America” Tuesday that Wilson was a “really quiet, well-mannered, respectful guy” who showed no signs of violence.

“‘I can tell that this is really hard on him,” said the man, who said he had exchanged texts with Wilson since the shooting, which sparked nights of violence on the streets of Ferguson, prompting the governor to call in the National Guard.

Earlier, another friend who identified herself only as Josie called “The Dana Show” on radio station KFTK to say that Wilson told her the tall, burly Brown, 18, had “bum-rushed“ him before the shooting.

Josie — who said she heard the version from Wilson’s girlfriend — said the cop encountered Brown and his pal Dorian Johnson walking down the middle of a street, pulled up and ordered them onto the sidewalk.

Wilson then noticed the pair were carrying cigars, and had heard the report of the robbery and recognized the pair as possible suspects.

“And he’s looking at them and they got something in their hands and it looks like it could be what, you know, those cigars or whatever. So he goes in reverse back to them,” Josie said.

Wilson, she said, “tries to get out of his car. They slam his door shut violently. I think he said Michael did. And then he opened the car again. He tried to get out. He stands up.

“And then Michael just bum-rushes him and shoves him back into his car. Punches him in the face and then Darren grabs for his gun. Michael grabbed for the gun. At one point he got the gun entirely turned against his hip. And he shoves it away. And the gun goes off,” Josie said.

“Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And Darren’s first protocol is to pursue. So he stands up and yells, ‘Freeze!’ Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him … And then all the sudden he just started bum-rushing him. He just started coming at him full speed,” she told the station.

“So [Wilson] really thinks [Brown] was on something, because he just kept coming. It was unbelievable. And so he finally ended up, the final shot was in the forehead, and then he fell about two to three feet in front of the officer,” she said.

An autopsy performed by the St. Louis County medical examiner determined Brown had marijuana in his system when he was shot.

Meanwhile, police said 31 people were arrested overnight Monday into Tuesday as rioting continued unabated despite the National Guard’s presence.

But NBC News reported that 78 people had been taken into custody, citing arrest records.

State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson said at least one person from New York and another from California were among those busted, though cops on Tuesday provided no further details.

Two people were shot, though police were not involved.

“Our officers came under heavy fire. Not a single bullet was fired by officers,” Johnson during a news conference at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

But cops did fire multiple canisters of tear gas to disperse the rioters and prevent further looting.

“This nation is watching each and every one of us,” said Johnson, who was clearly angry during the news conference, The Post-Dispatch reported. “I am not going to let the criminals that have come here from across this country, or live in this neighborhood, define this community.”

[su_youtube url=”” autoplay=”yes”]

Texas – Texas Gov. Rick Perry has been indicted for abuse of power after carrying out a threat to veto funding for state public corruption prosecutors.

The Republican governor is accused of abusing his official powers by publicly promising to veto $7.5 million for the state public integrity unit at the Travis County District Attorney’s office. He was indicted by an Austin grand jury Friday.

Perry said he’d veto the funding if the district attorney, Rosemary Lehmberg, didn’t resign. Lehmberg had recently been convicted of drunken driving. The state’s Public Integrity Unit operates out of her office.

When Lehmberg refused, Perry carried out his veto, drawing an ethics complaint.

She’s a Law-Abiding Single Mom With a Concealed Carry Permit — The Reason She Faces Over 11 Years in Jail Is Almost Unbelievable | Video |

She’s a Law-Abiding Single Mom With a Concealed Carry Permit — The Reason She Faces Over 11 Years in Jail Is Almost Unbelievable

A hard-working single mom from Philadelphia reportedly now faces more than 11 years in prison on multiple gun charges — but the details behind the charges have stunned people across the nation.

Shaneen Allen, a single mother to two young boys, is a legal concealed carry permit holder. She reportedly obtained her permit to protect herself and her kids after she was robbed twice. Allen has no prior criminal record and everything about her gun and concealed carry permit is legal. New Jersey New Jersey

However, her nightmare began when she traveled to New Jersey from Philadelphia.

Allen was reportedly pulled over by a New Jersey cop for an “unsafe lane change” back in October 2013. Doing what she had been trained to do, the mother informed the officer that she is a concealed carry permit holder and armed at the time.

What she didn’t know was that her permit and firearm became instantly illegal once she crossed into New Jersey, a state with extremely strict gun laws. As TheBlaze previously reported, the mother was arrested and at first faced about 3 years in prison.

Allen reportedly appeared in court this week and, to many people’s surprise, the case wasn’t dismissed by the judge. In fact, she now reportedly faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for possession a concealed weapon and another potential 18 months for possession of hollow-point bullets — more than 11.5 years in total. reports that the prosecutor wouldn’t even allow Allen to accept a pretrial deal in order to avoid jail time. Instead, the prosecutor reportedly offered her a plea bargain that includes five years in prison with no option of parole for 3.5 years.

Evan Nappen, Allen’s attorney, told the website that “New Jersey’s gun law is as unforgiving as a prosecutor or judge wants to make it.”

“Either of those two, the judge or the prosecutor could have taken steps to relieve Shaneen from this situation, but it didn’t happen,” he added.

Thunderstorms kill 1, submerge cars in San Bernardino County

Floods and Flooding
Thunderstorms wreak havoc in the mountains and desert of San Bernardino County
Storms clog key access roads with rocks and mud, submerging cars and prompting ‘shelter in place’ orders
County resources are stretched thin by the storm

Thunderstorms wreaked havoc in portions of the mountains and desert of San Bernardino County on Sunday, killing one person, clogging key access roads with rocks and mud, submerging cars and prompting “shelter in place” orders for at least 3,000 people.

One person was killed in the Bear Creek community, near Mt. Baldy, when debris swept a car off a roadway and into a swollen creek, authorities said.

Separately, several people rescued from fast-flowing water were treated for hypothermia, officials said.

One man in the Forest Falls mountain community was forced to escape a debris flow by climbing a tree. Most vehicles that were submerged in streams or floods were searched and found empty, authorities said.

County resources were stretched thin by the storm. Scores of swift-water rescue teams and fire engines had been dispatched to far-flung reaches of the county, said county Fire Capt. Josh Wilkins.

“Every rescue unit we have, every fire engine we have in San Bernardino County” had been sent out, Wilkins said. “We are literally approaching the maximum right now in terms of our call volume.”

The storms showed little sign of easing up. Typically, weather patterns in the area calm down at night. But by about 7 p.m., some of the more significant weather cells appeared to be circulating back toward the Forest Falls area after pummeling the San Bernardino Mountains and stretches of the Angeles National Forest.

“The whole thing could be repeating itself,” Wilkins said. The county was considering putting out a call for assistance to neighboring communities.

The first days of August have been surprisingly wet in Southern California, with unusual humidity and showers throughout the region. The troubles in San Bernardino County appear to have started with a thunderstorm that began in the Claremont area Sunday and spun off like pinwheels into the mountains and the desert.

In Bear Creek, several hikers were lost in bad weather and were rescued. Heavy flooding was reported.

In the Mt. Baldy area, debris flows were heading toward homes. Creeks swelled into rivers, submerging cars, Wilkins said. Authorities issued an order telling residents to shelter in place. One group rescued by emergency crews had been trapped in a home that was threatened by flooding and moving debris.

There were also reports of exploding propane tanks. Rescue teams were planning to search mountain cabins one by one.

The primary roads leading to Mt. Baldy were effectively blocked by rocks, mud and other debris. Rescue crews from the county, the city of Rancho Cucamonga and Los Angeles County fanned out in the area.

The community of Forest Falls was particularly hard-hit. Valley of the Falls Drive was also blocked by debris, and a bridge was washed out — and it’s “one road in, one road out,” Wilkins said.

Flooding was reported throughout the mountain community, which was teeming with both residents and campers and other recreational visitors.

“The rest of the town is still cut off,” said public information officer Ryan Beckers.

At one point, more than 500 people were headed to a one-day conference in the area, and their convoy of cars was trapped in a debris flow. All have been accounted for, Wilkins said. It was unclear what sort of conference had been scheduled.

Two people were rescued from fast-moving water and were not injured, and a shelter had been established at a community center.

Between Mt. Baldy and Forest Falls, about 3,000 people had been ordered to remain where they were until the weather cleared.

Also, a swift-water rescue team had been dispatched to a remote area along California 62, where two parallel flash floods had trapped eight to 10 cars. Compounding the problem, at least 150 people had stopped to watch the rescue operation from the edge of the water, which “creates even more concern for us because they could become victims too,” Wilkins said.

Authorities also reported flooding in Fontana, Mentone and Crestline.

Hippocratic Oath

An oath of ethical professional behavior sworn by new physicians and attributed to Hippocrates.

I swear by Apollo the Physician, Asclepius, Hygeia, Panaceia, and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill this oath and this covenant according to my ability and judgment:
To regard him who teaches me the art of medicine as equal to my parents; to share my life with him and, if he is in need, my sustenance; to regard his children as my brothers and to teach them this art, if they wish to learn it, without fee or covenant; to give instruction, written, oral, and practical, to my sons and the sons of my teacher, as well as to any students who have signed a covenant and sworn an oath according to the canons of our profession, but to no others.
I will apply therapeutic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment, and will abstain from harm and wrongdoing.
I will not give a lethal drug to anyone requesting it, nor will I recommend the use of such. Likewise I will not give a woman an abortive drug.
I will live my life and practice my art in purity and in holiness.

Whatever houses I enter, I will do so for the benefit of the sick, refraining from all intentional wrongdoing and misconduct, particularly from sexual involvement with persons of either gender, whether free or slaves.
I will not divulge anything of a private nature regarding people’s personal lives that I see or hear, whether in the course of my professional activities or not, because I recognize the shamefulness of revealing such information.
If I carry out this oath and do not break it, may I find satisfaction in life and the practice of my profession and may I deserve honor among men forever. If I violate it and swear falsely, may the opposite be my lot.

MURDER! by depraved indifference  it’s attempted second-degree murder by Boston DCF

To constitute depraved indifference, the defendant’s conduct must be ‘so wanton, so deficient in a moral sense of concern, so lacking in regard for the life or lives of others, and so blameworthy as to warrant the same criminal liability as that which the law imposes upon a person who intentionally causes a crime. Depraved indifference focuses on the risk created by the defendant’s conduct, not the injuries actually resulting.

the People were required to establish also that defendant’s act was imminently dangerous and presented a very high risk of death to others and that it was committed under circumstances which evidenced a wanton indifference to human life or a depravity of mind. . . .

Yes WE THE PEOPLE find that Central Office of the Department of Children and Families: involved in the Justina Pelletier case have and are acting in imminently dangerous way and presented a very high risk of death to Justina Pelletier. Further more WE find that the DCF and ALL those involved  in this case, that their action demonstrates a “callous disregard for human life” that may results in death. WE demand the immediate removal of DCF officials pending charges for the attempted second-degree murder of Justina Pelletier.

Boston, MA – Today, A contempt of court motion was filed against the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) in the Justina Pelletier case.

Three weeks ago on March 3, Judge Joseph Johnston approved a written agreement transferring care to Tufts Medical Center. Despite this enforceable order, DCF still has not made appointments with Tufts. The Pelletiers have spoken several times to Dr. Korson, who was treating Justina before this debacle began, and they obtained an appointment date. Dr. Korson said that he wants to see Justina and resume her treatment immediately, but on Friday, March 21, DCF said it will not honor any appointments with Tufts until the judge rules on Tuesday.

“A child’s health and welfare are hanging in the balance. We cannot continue to withhold treatment from this young girl,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. “It is obvious to everyone but DCF that this disease is physical, not psychiatric. DCF should stop delaying, obey the court order, and send her to Tufts for medical treatment today!” Staver continued.

The Pelletiers are preparing other legal pleadings to remove DCF from this case.  “DCF has abused its authority. DCF had no right to come between Justina and medical care,” Staver said.

Last Monday, Mat Staver was in court before Judge Johnston. Two matters were brought up: (1) Staver’s (second) motion to be admitted to the case, and (2) a request to return Justina home to the parents. Judge Johnston said he would rule on both matters by the end of the week. On Friday afternoon, the clerk of the court stated the judge will rule next Tuesday. In 14 months, Judge Johnston has not issued a single written opinion. He continually kicks the can down the road.

On February 24, Mat Staver first appeared in the Boston court seeking to represent the family. DCF objected. The judge said that DCF had 48 hours to file any written objections. DCF did not, but the judge did not rule. “The delay tactics, hoping that the press will lose interest in this case, must cease. Justina must be returned to her parents’ custody and Tufts’ care,” Staver said.

A Massachusetts judge ruled Tuesday that the Connecticut teen in the middle of a contentious custody battle between her parents and the state will remain in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.

The Boston Globe reported that Suffolk County juvenile court Judge Joseph Johnson granted“permanent” custody to the state DCF. This decision was in response to a motion filed by Lou and Linda Pelletier, Justina’s parents, and her court-appointed lawyer for a “conditional custody” plan. Up until this point, DCF only had temporary custody of Justina, which it had maintained for more than a year.

“Please let me go home right now.”

Those are some of the first words that the public has ever heard from Justina Pelletier since she was taken out of her parents custody and into the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families 16 months ago.

“This is the first time they can actually hear her in her own voice,” Rev. Patrick Mahoney told TheBlaze Monday of the video posted to the “A Miracle for Justina” Facebook page, showing the 16-year-old in a wheelchair.

Justina Pelletier was recorded asking a judge and Gov. Deval Patrick to allow her to return home to her family. (Image source: Facebook video)

“All I really want to be with is with my family and my friends,” Justina said in the video posted Sunday night.

“You can do it. You’re the one that’s judging this. Please let me go home Judge Johnson and Gov. Patrick,” Justina continued directing her comments to Suffolk County juvenile court Judge Joseph Johnston and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. “Please, right now. Please let me go home right now. I need to be home with my family and just please do it.”

Watch the video:

Justina’s video comes after she was allowed a brief visit at home and attended her sister’s dance recital over the weekend, Mahoney said. It also comes after the DCF filed a motion last week to reconsider and dismiss the case against Justina Pelletier’s parents, Lou and Linda Pelletier.

“We are pleased that the family has engaged around the reunification plan and we have filed papers in court to support our shared goal of bringing Justina home,” Alec Loftus, a spokesman for the state’s Health and Human Services department, said in an emailed statement.

The teen’s parents lost custody of their daughter after a disagreement with Boston Children’s Hospital over a medical diagnosis. Since then, they have been fighting for her return in and out of court.

Mahoney told TheBlaze the next set date when Judge Johnston could rule on the case in light of DCF’s motion is June 20, but the family hopes for something sooner.

“The Pelletiers have completed all four elemnts of DCF reunification plan. Based on DCF filing this request for dismissal and the Pelletiers completing reunification plan, there is no reason at all why Justina should not be released immediately,” he said, noting that Father’s Day was coming up this Sunday.

While Mahoney could not comment on any further legal action that the Pelletiers might take, he said, that “one would expect the Pelletiers to use every recourse to hold government accountable to ensure this never happens again.”

Texas Cops Attack Man Photographing Building, Claiming he was Man Fleeing from them | Photography is Not a Crime: PINAC

just found this great site and this story… maybe i should tun in to Chanel 5 more often.

Texas Cops Attack Man Photographing Building, Claiming he was Man Fleeing from them | Photography is Not a Crime: PINAC.

By Carlos Miller

A San Antonio man taking photos of his wife’s soon-to-be medical practice was attacked by a plainclothes cop who roared up in a pickup and hopped out, ordering him to get down, striking him in the face with what appeared to be a handheld radio before he could even comply.

Two uniformed SWAT team members quickly joined in, striking Roger Carlos in the head about 50 times with fists and elbows before handcuffing him. satisfied that they had their man.

Except the real man were looking was someone else whom they had chased for miles down a freeway at 80 mph before he pulled into a parking lot, ditched his car and ran.

When the dimwit cops pulled off the freeway and spotted Roger taking photos outside his building in broad daylight, they pounced on him, figuring a fleeing fugitive felon would stop and take photos of a random building during his getaway.

It was only when a fourth cop pulled up and informed the three cops that they had already arrested their man down the street; a 27-year-old named Josue Rodriguez who was charged with illegal gun and drug possession, accused of driving around with a sawed-off shotgun and 20 grams of methamphetamine.

So police went into immediate coverup mode, declaring that not only did Carlos fit Rodriguez’s description, which is questionable by the photos below, he resisted arrest – even if it was a blatantly unlawful arrest.

The incident took place two months ago but it coming to light now after Carlos realized internal affairs was just stringing him along about their “investigation.”

The names of the cops, of course, have not been released, so they are still roaming the streets of San Antonio, putting the public in danger with their aggressive knee-jerk tendencies.

According to KENS5:

Josue Gonzalez, 27, fled from police away from Loop 410 along the Highway 151 access road before he exited at Westover Hills and ditched his car in the parking lot of a restaurant. The restaurant is a few hundred feet from where Carlos was standing.

“All three of them started beating me on the head,” said Carlos, who still showed visible signs of the beating when he spoke with KENS 5 weeks after the incident.

“It was unbelievable. I couldn’t believe it was happening to me.”

Carlos said he was struck about 50 times, even though he complied with the officers’ instructions and did not fight back.

Shortly after being handcuffed and explaining to officers that he owned the property, a fourth officer approached and said the suspect was in custody nearby.

Carlos meanwhile, was hospitalized after the beating. He was treated for a large gash above his eye and a broken tooth.

Swelling of his head was so severe, doctors performed a CT scan of Carlos’ head as well.

But the officers reported they were in fear for their lives, so all will be forgiven.

McManus said officers reported that Carlos kept his hands underneath his body when he went to the ground, and officers had no idea if Carlos had a weapon.

City of Murrieta – News Details 7-3-14

Message to the CommunityJuly 3, 2014This has been a difficult week in the city of Murrieta.  We have been challenged and in some ways we fell down in the face of the challenge.  We have been both celebrated and vilified locally and in the national press — and mostly based on inaccurate interpretations of the same issue.  On Monday, Mayor Long gave a press conference.  During that press conference he recognized people’s right to peaceful protest.  He also expressed frustration with the federal immigration policy that appears to be encouraging women and children from Central America to migrate to the US via the Rio Grande Valley.  He recognized that immigration is the responsibility of the federal government, but was concerned that the Murrieta Border Patrol station would be receiving 140 women and children every 72 hours for processing.  This facility is not appropriate for that purpose – it is essentially a jail, designed to hold drug runners and criminals caught at the Border Patrol checkpoint on I-15 just south of Temecula.  When Mayor Long expressed frustration with the federal government and recommended protest, he was suggesting that concerned citizens contact their US Representatives and the President to share their thoughts.  To that end, a list of federal offices, Members of Congress representing our area and the White House phone numbers were compiled on a list that was shared at the press conference. Sadly, too many people took this as encouragement to protest the arrival of buses carrying the women and children to the Border Patrol station in Murrieta.  Protesters came from around the southland to oppose the arrival of undocumented immigrants to Murrieta for processing.  In the face of the protest, three buses were turned around and the protesters claimed victory.  This was not victory.  It was a loss for the city of Murrieta, for the community that we live in and love.  It made this extremely compassionate community look heartless and uncaring.  That is NOT the Murrieta that we all know and love. There appear to be two sides to this issue – those who believe Mayor Long was encouraging them to stand in front of the buses in protest, and those who believe that Murrieta does not recognize that the US is the envy of the world and that people want to migrate here, even at the risk of their lives and the lives of their children.  Both sides are wrong.  We understand that people want to come to the US to seek a better life for their families, and we are a compassionate people who want to help.  But we also are a country whose legal system is based on the rule of law, and the people migrating must do so within the boundaries of the law.  The protests resulting from the incorrect interpretations of Mayor Long’s comments have given our community a black eye. To be clear, the City of Murrieta’s primary role is public safety.  Our police department has been out in force to protect the lives and the rights of those individuals who have chosen to protest.  We are proud of our police department knowing that they have done an outstanding job of maintaining the peace. Beyond that, we recognize that there is a battle in play between the Congress and the President over immigration.  True, this is a federal issue and should be resolved at the federal level.  But it is affecting our community is a very real and ugly way.  This brings us back to Mayor Long’s original message – we should be contacting our US Representatives and the President and letting them know that their failure to resolve this issue has damaged our community, and not only ours, but communities throughout the southwestern US.  We should be encouraging them to begin a dialogue – a dialogue that we are very ready to be part of.And above all, we should show everyone what a truly compassionate and caring community Murrieta is!Rick DudleyCity Manager

Cochran staffers to commit massive voter fraud

Got News.

Cochran Campaign Manager, Staffer Busted in Illegal Vote Buying Operation

Charles C. Johnson and Joel S. Gilbert

Democrat black reverend, who brought “hundreds” to the polls for promise of payment, exposes alleged massive voter fraud, vote buying operation by Cochran campaign.

A black reverend stiffed by the Cochran campaign has exposed an alleged criminal conspiracy by Cochran staffers to commit massive voter fraud ahead of Tuesday’s controversial U.S. Senate Republican runoff election in Mississippi.

Reverend Stevie Fielder, associate pastor at historic First Union Missionary Baptist Church and former official at Meridian’s redevelopment agency, says he delivered “hundreds or even thousands,” of blacks to the polls after being offered money and being assured by a Cochran campaign operative that Chris McDaniel was a racist. “They [the Cochran campaign] told me to offer blacks fifteen dollars each and to vote for Thad.”

It is illegal under several provisions of Mississippi law and federal law for campaign officials to bribe voters with cash and punishable up to five years in jail. (MS Code 97-13-1; MS Code 97-13-3 (2013) (Federal Code 18 U.S.C. 597, U.S.C. 1973i(c)) Voter fraud schemes are not unusual for Mississippi. In 1999 Mississippi’s attorney general reported massive voter fraud allegations throughout the Magnolia state. In 2011, a Mississippi NAACP leader was sent to prison for voter fraud, according to the Daily Caller.

It would seem that laws were broken here, too. At the direction of the Cochran campaign, Reverend Fielder went “door to door, different places, mostly impoverished neighborhoods, to the housing authorities and stuff like that,” telling fellow blacks that McDaniel was a racist and promising them $15 per vote. “They sold me on the fact that he was a racist and that the right thing to do was to keep him out of office,” Fielder says.

Text messages released to Got News and a recorded interview with Reverend Fielder confirmed that Saleem Baird, a staffer with the Cochran campaign and current legislative aide to U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, and Cochran campaign manager, Kirk Sims, were involved in a $15-per-vote cash bribery scheme to target members of the black community.

“They said they needed black votes,” said the Reverend Fielder on the phone. He says Baird told him to “give the fifteen dollars in each envelope to people as they go in and vote. You know, not right outside of the polling place but he would actually recruit people with the $15 dollars and they would go in and vote.” Fielder said he received thousands of dollars in envelopes from Baird and distributed them accordingly. Fielder also says he went to the campaign office on another occasion to pick up $300 in cash and was among a room full of people who were doing the same thing he was.

Fielder said that Saleem Baird was doing the same thing with people all over the state. Fielder believes that the racism charge against McDaniel and the promise of $15 a vote motivated ‘thousands’ of black Democrats like him to vote for Cochran in the runoff. When asked if Fielder would have been more suspicious of Baird’s promises had he been white, Fielder replied, “Yes, definitely.”

For his efforts, Fielder says the Cochran campaign and Baird promised him $16,000 for paying black voters $15 a vote, but Baird wound up stiffing him. Baird even asked him to delete all texts between the two of them. In addition to Baird, Fielder says he spoke with Kirk Sims, the Cochran campaign manager, and a woman named “Amanda” with the campaign, most likely Amanda Shook, director of operations to re-elect Thad Cochran. All refused to pay him the agreed upon amount of $16,000.

Baird realized he had been lied to when he “took a good look at the campaign ads” and realized “McDaniel was not a racist…me and other people were misguided and misled.”

Fielder confronted Saleem the weekend before the election and asked about whether or not McDaniel was actually a racist and Baird confirmed it. Baird “personally confirmed that McDaniel was a racist.” Baird ‘manipulated me to manipulate many other people,” says Fielder. Baird did not disclose that he worked as a paid legislative staffer for Senator Roger Wicker. Fielder also says he spoke with campaign manager Kirk Sims about getting paid and about the ethical complaints he had.

Fielder is a Democrat but said he has voted for Republicans in the past. And though Fielder is being paid for his story by Got News, he says he’d come forward anyway. “I thought what I did was wrong.” Fielder said he was motivated mostly by concerns that McDaniel was a racist, not money.

As to what should happen next, ‘definitely the election should not be allowed to stand,” says Fielder, who says he’ll support McDaniel in event of a special election. ‘He’s been done wrong. He’s not what they said that he is.’

Got News tried calling both Baird and Sims with Fielder on the line. We got through to Sims but Sims insisted that there was a bad connection when Fielder asked about the racist smear campaign against Chris McDaniel and hung up. Were Baird found to have violated any laws in this matter, this would not be his first time he had a brush with the wrong side of the law. In 2011, Baird, who is a legislative staffer with U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, was allowed to keep his job with the senator after being arrested on charges of running an illegal strip joint in Jackson.
Fully aware that we have helped reveal the Cochran campaign may be involved in a criminal conspiracy, Got News will turn over any and all evidence to law enforcement.
